Moreover, eBay's rules are pretty steadfast, so if a contract is agreed upon which it automatically does when auction of a particular product ends the seller is responsible for sending the product and the buyer is responsible for accepting the product when it arrives or else they can be penalized by eBay.
The Right For Genuine Descriptions During Auctions
You have the right to replace or ask for a refund if the product that arrives at your place is in anyway damaged or broken and is not in compliance with the specifications given during the contract. Descriptions during the auction must be relevant and there is a penalty for misleading buyers.
Exercising Your Rights
Since their reputation is at stake most sellers are quite supportive and responsive whenever a buyer contacts them regarding a particular sale as in all probability the buyer would leave a negative feedback about the seller which can gravely affect the future sales of the seller. And if the seller is not as receptive then as a buyer you have the right to report to eBay.
eBay probably does not have a huge number of staff to handle the complaints but their automated system is very effective in handling the problems commonly faced by buyers and sellers.
You most likely won't need it, but only as a last resort you can report to the consumer groups or to the police but generally problems that can be easily resolved are usually seen.
Trust Your Patience!
Trust the seller's genuineness and don't be too quick in judging them. There are times when things might have gone wrong at your end too. The postman might have forgotten to bring the parcel or if he did you might not be home to receive it or a typo error in the name or address. The reasons could go on. So don't be judgmental and too quick in forming a judgment. Mutual co-operation and understanding is the keyword here especially on eBay and along with detailed communication it can be a very good option or marketing and for shopping. Other problems most buyers face is that they realize that they have overpaid for a product, or got a product that is of low quality or is a scam, and this happens when you buy in a hurry without the proper research. So to avoid such mishaps, it is always good to do your research on the product you plan to buy.
